Local, In-House Production

One of the biggest ways we reduce our environmental footprint is by doing all printing and embroidery in-house at our Pyrmont facility in Sydney. This allows us to maintain full control over our production process and drastically reduce the environmental toll that comes with outsourcing.

• Fewer Freight Miles: By not relying on third-party decorators or offshore printers, we eliminate unnecessary transportation of garments between multiple suppliers—cutting down significantly on carbon emissions.
• Less Packaging Waste: Centralized production means fewer shipments and packaging layers, leading to a cleaner, more efficient supply chain.
• On-Demand Fulfilment: We print and embroider to order, allowing for reduced overstock and fewer discarded garments.

Sustainable Printing Methods – Why We Choose DTF

At AusPrint Clothing, we primarily use Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing, a newer method that is more sustainable than traditional screen printing and heat transfers.

Environmental benefits of DTF printing include:

• Minimal Water Usage: Unlike screen printing, DTF does not require water-intensive processes or wastewater treatment.
• No Harsh Chemicals: DTF eliminates the need for emulsions, plastisols, and chemical cleaning agents used in traditional methods.
• Low Waste: With DTF, designs are printed digitally with precision—reducing test prints, ink waste, and setup material.
• Lower Energy Use for Small Runs: DTF allows us to produce high-quality prints without the need for mass runs, reducing the energy and material waste caused by overproduction.

Smart Inventory & Responsible Sourcing

In addition to our local production model and printing methods, we work with reputable uniform and garment suppliers who are aligned with ethical sourcing practices and offer certified sustainable fabric ranges. While we don’t manufacture garments ourselves, we actively help clients choose more eco-conscious options from our 100+ brand partners including organic cotton tees, recycled polyester workwear, and low-impact apparel lines.

Waste Reduction & Recycling Practices

As part of our commitment to reducing environmental impact, AusPrint Clothing actively recycles and reuses materials throughout our production process. All plastic packaging that garments arrive in is collected and recycled responsibly. We also reuse and recycle all boxes received from suppliers, reducing our contribution to landfill and extending the lifecycle of packaging materials. These small but consistent efforts help us minimise waste and operate more sustainably on a day-to-day basis.
